Frequently Asked Questions
-
How does online tutoring work? Our online tutoring is facilitated through Zoom. Students can interact with our tutors in real-time, ask questions, receive personalised instruction, and access resources digitally. The platform offers features such as screen sharing, virtual whiteboards, and chat functionalities to enhance the learning experience.
-
What subjects and levels do you offer tutoring in?We offer tutoring for a wide range of mainstream subjects, covering primary school through to the end of secondary school for A levels/IB. Our subjects include but are not limited to Mathematics, English, Science, History, Geography, Languages, and more. The availability of specific subjects may vary depending on tutor schedules and demand. We strive to accommodate as many requests as possible.

Do you offer tutoring for university-level material? Our primary focus is on providing tutoring for primary and secondary school levels, including GCSEs, A levels, IB, and Pre-U qualifications. While we generally do not cover university-level content, we can assist with specific one-off modules that may be required for certain degree programmes. For example, if a degree programme requires passing a mathematics module equivalent to GCSE level, we can provide support in preparing for such requirements. Please note that our ability to assist with university-level material may vary, and we recommend reaching out to discuss your specific needs.

Do you prepare students for university admissions, such as Oxbridge?Yes, we provide comprehensive support to prepare students for university admissions, including prestigious institutions like Oxbridge. Our services include interview practice, entrance test preparation, and assistance with crafting compelling personal statements. We tailor our approach to help students excel in every aspect of the admissions process, maximising their chances of success in securing a place at their desired universities.
-
What technology do I need for online tutoring? To participate in online tutoring sessions, you'll need a reliable internet connection, a computer or mobile device with a webcam and microphone. While not mandatory, having a device with the capability to write, such as an iPad paired with a stylus, can enhance the tutoring experience, especially for subjects like Mathematics. This allows tutors to better assist students by viewing their written work in real-time. However, it's not essential, and our tutors can adapt to accommodate various setups and devices.
-
What if I need to reschedule or cancel a tutoring session? We understand that circumstances may arise requiring session changes. To ensure fairness to both our tutors and students, any cancellations or rescheduling requests made within 24 hours of the scheduled session will incur the full session cost. This policy is in place to honour the time and commitment of our tutors.
-
Do you offer tutoring on weekends and holidays?Yes, we strive to accommodate our students' schedules to the best of our ability. Tutoring availability on weekends and holidays may vary depending on the availability of our tutors.
